Small business

Same internet. Your ABN on the bill.

We sell the same three nbn plans to small businesses as we do to homes, at the same prices: unlimited data, no lock-in contract and no setup fee. Tick “This is for a business” when you order, and every tax invoice shows your business name and ABN.

What you get

Everything a household gets, plus the paperwork a business needs.

Tax invoices with your ABN
Tick “This is for a business” when you order and give us the business name and ABN. Every invoice after that shows them, with the GST set out. Each one is emailed to you and kept in your account.
Pay by card, or by bank transfer
Month one goes on a card when you order. After that, ask and you can pay each invoice by bank transfer (EFT) instead. No card surcharge and no late fees either way.
A public IPv4 if you need one
For a VPN, remote access or cameras you check from outside: your own public IPv4 address, $10 a month, on or off from your account. Every plan has a native IPv6 /60 as well.
No lock-in, no setup fee
Month to month. Leave whenever you like with no exit fee, and we refund the days you’ve paid for but won’t use.
Bring your own router
The router you already trust. No PPPoE, no VLAN, no username or password: plug it in and it gets an address. On FTTN and FTTB it needs to be a VDSL2 modem-router.
People who run the network
Call 02 4398 7081 or email hello@nyx.net.au, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (NSW time, except public holidays). The people who answer are the people who fix it.

What we don’t do

Better you hear it now than find out on a busy Saturday.

No service level agreement
Our standard service level is best efforts, with no guaranteed repair time, for businesses and homes alike. When a fault is in nbn’s network we report it and chase it, within nbn’s own fault timeframes. If a day offline would cost you, keep a backup, like a mobile hotspot.
No phone line
It’s internet only, with no voice service, so it can’t call 000. EFTPOS terminals, alarms, lift phones and fax machines that need a phone line won’t work over it. Check with whoever supplies them before you switch.
One address, not a block
The public IPv4 add-on is a single address. We don’t route blocks of addresses, take your own address space, or join up several sites.
Standard terms only
The plans, prices and terms are the ones every customer gets. We don’t negotiate contracts or offer business-only plans.

Small business means you. NYX Internet is for businesses on our standard terms that spend up to $40,000 a year with us. You get the same protections as a household: our complaints process, financial hardship help and the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman.

Not sure it fits? Ask us first.

Tell us what you run and what the connection has to do. If you need something on the list above, like a guaranteed repair time or a block of addresses, we’ll say so straight away rather than sell you a plan that won’t do the job.

Questions

Can I claim the GST?

Our invoices are tax invoices: they show our ABN, the GST on each line and, once you’ve given them to us, your business name and ABN. Whether you can claim it is a question for you and your accountant.

Whose name is the account in?

Yours, as the person who orders, with the business name and ABN on it. If someone else at the business should be able to deal with us, tell us and we’ll add them as an authorised representative.

I’m already a customer. Can I add my ABN?

Yes. Add them under Business details in your account, or tell us on 02 4398 7081. Every invoice from then on shows the business name and ABN.

Can I get a fixed IP address?

The closest thing we have is a public IPv4 address: one address for your service, $10 a month, added when you order or later from your account. Turning it on or off changes the address and drops the connection for about 30 seconds, and we warn you first.

What happens when it goes down?

Call or email us. We test your line and our network from our end, and if the fault is in nbn’s network we report it and chase it until it’s fixed. Planned work and known faults go on our network status page. There’s no guaranteed repair time, so keep a backup if you can’t do without it for a day.

Start with the address.

Check it and see which plans it can get, then tick “This is for a business” when you order.
